A friend of mine once slipped on her right foot while walking when she was younger, and decided not to tell her parents, considering it a mild home injury. Later on she noticed that her foot’s position while walking became irregular. It resulted in a slight pain on the right portion of her hip, which she also decided to ignore. Long story short , those “mild” home accidents which were left ignored eventually led to bone deformation. She is now unable to make her feet lay flat on the floor when walking.
Most injuries happen when we least expect it. It could happen anytime, anywhere – even in the comfort of our own homes.
It is important to know the How-Tos when facing mild home accidents (sprain, burn and bruise) before they get worse.
Whether we’re cooking supper, putting a new picture frame on the wall or the kids are just playing tag, unwelcome accidents often happen. Here are a handful of common household injuries and the fresh-from-the-cupboard-or-fridge first aid treatments that you may apply.
Burnt hand
You inadvertently poured hot water on your hands while cooking.
Grab a chilled ripe tomato from your fridge. Slice it in half, take the other piece and put it on the burnt area.
Squish the juice out of it and allow it to stay onto your skin for about 7 minutes.
Use the other half then repeat the same procedure.
You can either use a tomato, ice or an Aloe Vera herbal plant whichever you have available.

Hammered nails
Let’s just say that you’re not the hammer master that you accidentally hammer your thumb, ouch!
Take a bottle of vinegar from the cupboard and pour it in a small container or a small bowl deep enough for you to dip your thumb.
Let your thumb soak in there for a while; or for about 10-15 minutes until the pain is alleviated.
It’s been said that by using vinegar it will prevent the after-effect of your nails getting a black mark caused by blood clot.

Stepping on broken glass
Someone dropped a plate and you accidentally stepped on it.
Bring out the tweezer from your beauty kit and carefully remove the glass particles off the feet’s sole.
Afterwards take a clean wet cloth and wipe off the dirt or blood on the foot.
Next, take a cotton ball dampened with alcohol and gently rub it over the wound to purify it.
Lastly, put Betadine on the wound then wrap it with sterilized gauze.

Cut fingers
This usually happens when we’re preoccupied while cutting the ingredients or when the kiddos are making their paper art home works.
All you need is soap, water and an adhesive bandage or you can simply use a band-aid.
Allow the blood to ooze out of the wound first, by doing so this would flush out all dirt and contaminants that might infect the cut.
Then rinse the wound with running tap water for a couple of minutes and then wash the skin with soap.
Lastly, cover the wound with adhesive bandage.

Sprained foot
That dirt hole that you have long asked someone to cover gave you a sprained foot by tripping on it.
Take an ice pack and put that onto the sprained foot then wrap it with an elastic bandage.
Rest your sprain and elevate your sprain mostly above the level of your heart. If possible refrain from putting to much weight on your sprained foot.

Head bumps
Kids are generally restless. That’s why head bumps are usual when they fall off the bed or their head on the floor or something hard.
Do not immediately pick up the kid if she injured her head. Let her stay calm and check it, if it’s not severe then you can move her.
Put an ice pack onto the bump.

Bleeding gums
This usually happens when you try to pick out some food that’s been stuck between your teeth and you accidentally poke your gums instead which led to bleeding gums.

Bruised knee
Just before you go to sleep, when the lights are out you get a bruised knee. Blame it on the bed post.
Treating bruises is somewhat the same when you give remedies to bumps and sprain. The most acceptable way to treat this is by putting ice packs on top of the swelling knee.
epeat this every 2 to 3 hours.
You can also use creams for bruises such as Vitamin K cream & Arnica cream.

Fallen tooth
While in the middle of a dodge ball activity you’re accidentally hit by the ball in the face and that tooth of yours falls.
Rinse the fallen tooth with milk and immediately try to put the tooth back in.
Do not, I repeat do not rinse the tooth with water because it will wash away the periodontal ligament cells, then there’s going to be no hope for your tooth to stick right back in.
andle the tooth in the crown only.
After this process, go to the nearest dentist to let them check your condition.
