Bringing home the bacon is a father’s main job objective. But if you think being the bread winner of the family is difficult, try balancing it with fame, fortune, and celebrity status. This Father’s Day, we honor a few famous men who have shown that it is possible to build an outstanding career while still being a full-time dad.

David Beckham

We all know David Beckham as the handsome, British soccer superstar who managed to capture the heart of Posh Spice. However, what is not always recognized about this Englishman is his more family-oriented side. Although this man is automatically followed by fame and fortune, this does not hinder him from spending time with his family. In his autobiography, My Side, he refers to his family of Victoria and sons Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz as a “bubble”, wherein despite being on the constant prowl by the paparazzi and pretty much the whole world, they still manage to keep the bubble intact.

When asked about what marriage and family life changed about him, he answers that fatherhood has made him less selfish.

“Until you have children you don’t realise how much it changes your life and how they become your main priority in terms of making sure they are OK, making sure they are happy.”The Inquisitor

Aga Muhlach still maintains his youthful glow, establishing himself as the matinee idol even at age 40. He surpasses generation gaps and has been paired up with actresses of all ages and genres, from Diamond Star Maricel Soriano down to drool-worthy Anne Curtis.

But despite being associated with a lot of leading ladies, he remains true to only one woman, his wife Charlene, with their marriage going strong for the past nine years. Aside from being a devoted husband, not the actor is also very protective of his family, especially of his children, Atasha and Andres, and is content with spending time with them.

“I hardly go out. Sometimes, I wonder if I’m missing out on something. But I’m happy just staying home with my family.”Inquirer.net

Brad Pitt

I am sure we are all thinking the same thing. “What did Brad Pitt get himself into?” Being involved with beautiful Angelina Jolie comes with a price, and for Brad, it comes in a form of six children. You have got to hand it to this good-looking actor for proudly embracing the role of super dad, while juggling an extremely busy and successful career. Brad describes himself as “the happiest father ever” and considers his children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox as “a dominant value” in his life.

“My expectations about being a dad are being excelled daily. There is nothing more satisfying for me than to help Shiloh burp. When I tuck the children in at night I always take the time to talk to them. I enjoy sitting on their bed and watching them fall asleep.”Exposay

Music icon Gary Valenciano has made a significant number of contributions to Filipino original music. Now at age 45, he continues to grace the television screens and the stages with his smooth dance steps and his lively performances, hence his title as Mr. Pure Energy. Other than putting 100% into being a singer, composer, and overall performer, he dedicates another 100% to being a good father and role model to his children, Paolo, Gab and Kristiana.

Despite his success, he does not pressure his kids to enter the entertainment industry or to follow him exactly in his footsteps, and expresses how proud he is of his children.
“I told my children when they were young, ‘You don’t have to be like your dad.’…To say that I am proud [of my kids] is an understatement: To say that I’m blessed is more like it."Manila Bulletin

Will Smith

Will Smith is a perfect reminder of the existence of having a second chance and the importance of taking it. The two-time Academy Award nominated actor known for being a loving husband and father, had once struggled with both his career and his first wife, Sheree Zampino, who divorced and left him with their son Willard Christopher “Trey”. It was in 1997 that Will Smith found his second chance by marrying current spouse Jada Pinkett. As his career began to grow by capturing roles in projects like Independence Day and Men in Black, so did the family with the addition of two more children.

Some actors focus too much on their career that time goes by and they miss out on the growth of their children. Will Smith revolutionized celebrity fatherhood by addressing this issue and letting his children participate actively in some of his biggest projects. His first son Trey appeared in his 1998 video for the single Just the Two of Us, his second son Jaden co-starred in the film The Pursuit of Happiness, and he appeared in the movie I Am Legend with his daughter Willow.

Will points to his father, Willard Christopher Smith Senior, as his inspiration for taking an active approach to fatherhood.

"I look at my father and how he was able to keep four kids fed and clothed and still managed to find time to spend with us."People
